Great debate going oin here. Let me put my 3 1/2 cents in now. T^o let you all know where I am coming from first. I was born a military bart.. Dad in USAF.It was great. I am also a retired Police Chief.
When it comes to both Woman and in or out of the service.
There are what I like to call ICEHOLES!
You what I mean. And their are some real nice Gems out their also. The biggest problem is getting thru the Iceholes to find the Gems.
To do this you need to develop two things and it is not easy.
Develop Rhino Hide and put your heart on you sleeve. The when you fine a Gem take off your Rhino Hide!

And we have saved each others lives more than once.

Miss Mary, It seems like you have spawned quite a 'debate' with this topic...and, for the record, I agree with the bulk of the responses here: NOT ALL MEN (in or out of uniform), ARE THE SAME.
Although I am not 'available' for the 'dating' concept, I'm always willing to make new friends and would be happy to correspond with you, should you like. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion - It's easy to think that every member of the opposite sex is either good or bad depending on what you've experienced -
Maybe I'm being a little 'idealistic' when I say that I truly believe that there is good in everyone in some shape or form;
Unfortunately, I have encountered some on this site that prove that concept wrong (from both genders) - Bottom line: Don't give up! Hi, this is for Dynomite. I have a question. Do you like to be put into a certain category because you are blond and show a bit of cleavage? You seem intelligent, so I presume that the answer is no. You have your reasons for thinking the way you do, but don't you think that most military guys don't deserve to be put in the same category as those you described. I have two brothers and lots of friends in the military. Yeah, there are some real pieces, but most are gentle and caring guys.
You may be right to be cautious, but that goes for almost everything in life. Wither its walking out the door or meeting new people, it doesn't matter. Just remember, the next time you meet that "jerk" and put him in a category, he might be doing the same to you.
Oh and by the way, my former is a military pilot. He never once yelled, hit, verbally abused or cheated on me. We just did not work out. We are still best friends and I love him to death. So just don't pre-judge people...cause the right one for you might slip by

I don't believe all military men are abusers,maybe some are,but don't done them all.As far as meeting friends or penpals I have met some(just a handfull) of good friends,and gave me some great advise on my past and present relationships.I did meet 1 guy on this site that I dated for 7 months he lied to me about everything except where he worked and being married.When I had found out he became very violent towards me.He messed me up really good mentally and emotionally,my trust for men isn't as trusting as I once was,he wasn't military.He did wear a uniform but care not to say for who.He has good his punishment believe me from his job and my local law enforcement,and as I am lead to believe he is no longer on here.My son had filed a complaint with this of what had happen to me with this man.I am being nice of identifing him as a man,but the guys that are fighting a war and defending our freedom back home are NOT all crumbs of the earth,and it's not fair to call them that.I come from a military family and we should all know that their are good and bad in all people.I myself have learned a very valuable lesson in life as far as online dating that you just can't believe everything a guy says in his profile,but this site I have found is safe, to a point,and if a guy is lying or doing wrong report it.They will investigate it....In the long of my comment PLEASE don't write off all military men as bad.Some are picky of the woman they are looking for as far as looks and what they hold within theirselves.Just wait and see give them a chance.As far as the woman that claim they are abusers I too can relate to you,but if you hate military men then this site is not for you,and you should leave it..

Dyomite.. I totally agree with Layloni and AH64Crazy.. Why are you on this web site...I agree that there are some men out there in the military who might be as you describe. But don't sterotype them all. There are also more nice men then bad and like everything in life you have to be cautious in everything you do. Sarah .. I am currently single. I was married for 7 years but my husband left when my son was 2. And for the record he was not in the military. A lot of military men do have "additude". But I don't think it's their fault. It's the fault of a lot of stupid women who are throwing themselves at them because he is in uniform, with looking at the actual man.

There are quite a few of us that have corresponded with very decent men on this site and have shared funny experiences and such. Mary, like most of us had a bad experience. I don't believe that she should throw in the towel and I certainly wouldn't classify her or any other woman as being insane because they want to develop a relationship with a man. Military men are men...I would venture to say that if your summation were correct that would mean that pursuing a relationship with a man is foolhearty. Well personally a woman can't do it for me so I'm not giving up on the men.

for me at least this site just sort of comes and goes with it's importance in my day to day life. Somedays I have time for it and some days I don't. I enjoy the connections I make, but they seem very far removed from my real day to day life ya know???Maybe that is how it is with some of the men too? Who knows, I just thought I would offer up a thought on the subject.
